Country Director — Plan International Ghana visits Women’s Haven Africa
Wednesday, June 9, 2021, a team from Plan International Ghana led by the Country Director, Solomon Tesfamariam accompanied by Mrs. Patricia Isabella Essel — Project Lead (Women Voice and Leadership) and Emmanuel Addo– Sub Grants Programme Mgt. Specialist — Women’s Voice & Leadership visited Women’s Haven Africa to interact with the team and to also follow up on the impact the Women’s Voice and Leadership in Ghana Project has had on the beneficiaries.
The Plan International Ghana team was welcomed by the the CEO of Women’s Haven Africa together with other team members where she shared their heartfelt gratitude for such a memorable visit.
The Women’s Haven Africa team led by Aaron Nartey, Monitoring and Evaluation Officer, seized the opportunity to present to the Plan International Ghana team how beneficial the Women Voice and Leadership project has been for the benefeciaries, detailing the key metrics used in the recruitment and selection of candidates, the number of people enrolled in the business development and vocational skills trainings, the 3 startups who received seed funding to scale up their businessees, the post engagements made so far and was wrapped up with a project documentary detailing the impact stories shared by the participants of the project led by Ira Osei Akoto, Partnership and Communications Manager.
Adwoa Fosua, CEO, Women’s Haven Africa also presented a proposal to the team from Plan International Ghana on the need for further support to beneficiaries of the WVL project and other women in need of similar support to either start a business and or sustain their businesses. She stressed that, there are a lot of marginalized women out there who need support to recover from the adverse impact of the COVID 19 pandemic through the creation of sustainable businesses which in turn contributes to the growth and development of the country.
Mr. Solomon expressed profound satistaction in Women’s Haven Africa’s role on the WVL project and the impact it strives to make for margenalized women in the Ashanti Region of Ghana.
